Two software packages are available for individual consumers to use in tracking their income and expenses:

  • Intuit Quicken. Quicken® Deluxe 2007 helps you better manage the 7 key areas of your finances: Banking, Investing, Taxes, Planning, Loans, Insurance, and Spending & Saving. “It includes tracking and budgeting features plus additional tools to help you plan for your financial future.” (Intuit: Quicken® Deluxe 2007 for Windows, 2007).

  • Microsoft Money. Money 2007 Standard helps you quickly and easily manage your personal finances. “Quickly track and understand spending, monitor and schedule bills, automatically generate easy-to-read reports, registers and budgets" (Microsoft Money, 2007).
