Property Insurance Protection Provided by the Military
For CONUS ("Continental United States," or non-overseas) moves, servicemembers can purchase full replacement coverage from the TMO (Traffic Management Office). This means that the insured will be reimbursed with no depreciation. To be covered, the loss must not have occurred as a result of an action taken or not taken by the insured.

High-Value Items?
This is especially valuable and recommended if you have high-value items such as appraised jewelry, art, and antiques. Also, check your homeowners policy to see what options may be available as a rider or endorsement to your policy for such valuable items, and whether the homeowner insurance will cover the replacement value during transit or storage. If you occupy government quarters and have property damage caused by the military, you should file a claim for reimbursement, and it will be evaluated.
